SMILE TRAIN PROJECT
Screening camp was organized in association
under Rotary Calicut East on September 24th 2006 for cleft
lip and palate for the Smile Train project. Around 50 poor
and deserving patients were short listed and the surgeries
have commenced at the hospital.

MEDICAL CAMP
Medical Camp was held in Kalpetta,
Wayanad on 29th October. 835 patients registered and
were excellently managed by the team from BMH . Certain tests
like ECG and Blood sugar were carried out and medicines were
distributed to all deserving patients.

CHIKUNGUNIYA AWARENESS CAMP
A Chikunguniya awareness camp in association with NSS unit of JDT was organized in Hotel Malabar Palace on 16th October 2006. The program was inaugurated by the CEO. Around 250 participants attended this camp.

ADOLESCENT GYNAEC HEALTH ISSUES
A talk was given by our Gynecologist,
Dr Bavin Balakrishnan to over 200 girl students on the
subject “Adolescent Gynaec Health Issues” at JDT
Islam, Calicut on 31st October 2006. This was followed by
a very lively interactive session where many questions were
answered and doubts cleared..

ARTHRITIS AND JOINT
REPLACEMENT CAMP
Baby Memorial Hospital with Rotary
Calciut Central, conducted the Arthritis Joint
replacement camp on Nov 5th at the Hospital.
60 patients registered and 7 poor patients were selected for FREE IMPLANTS.

MEDICAL CHECK UP
A free medical check up was conducted for the members of the Provident Fund, Calicut on 3rd November 2006. More than 100 patients were examined by doctors from BMH.

MEDICAL CAMP
A free Medical Camp was organized at Marthoma
Mission Hospital, Chungathara, Nilambur, Malapuram District.
6 departments from Baby Memorial Hospital managed the patients
and more than 850 patients were examined, tests done and medicines
dispensed of.

CME ON CARCENOMA BREAST
A CME on CARCENOMA BREAST was held on
November 19th- 2006 at BMH. Experts in the field of Cancer
therapy presented papers and this was attended by around 140
doctors and PG students. Post lunch there was an INTERACTIVE
SESSION on BREAST CANCER. More than 50 participants attended
this informative session..

WORLD EPILEPSY DAY
On 17th November 2006 World Epilepsy day was observed by the Neurology Department. There was a free check up for epilepsy patients. 70 patients were examined and medicines given for all. 20 poor patients were adopted by the hospital for free investigations and treatments- BMH Neurology dept.

Joint Replacement Camp
A Joint replacement camp was held at BMH
in association with Rotary Calicut Central. The Orthopaedics
department headed by Prof N J Mani and his team, Dr P Gangadharan,
Dr K Muralidharan organised this camp. 70 patients registered
from in and around Malabar and were examined free of cost
. 27 patients were selected for free implants on the basis
of their economic status .Three surgeries have already been
done and the rest will be conducted in another three months
at the hospital.
9th November
A Medical Check up was held for members of
the Department of Provident Fund, Calicut .Around 100 people
were examined by our doctors and paramedical staff.
BMH AIRPORT CLINIC
A clinic of BMH was opened at Calicut International
Airport offering free medical services to all the staff of
the Airport, Airlines and passengers.
CARDIAC SURGERY CAMP
A Cardiac Surgery screening camp was held at
Palghat in association with Sneham charitable trust and Dr
P V Ramnarayanan of the Cardio thoracic department, BMH. 50
patients were examined and 21 were selected for surgery at
BMH.
