Our highly qualified medical and paramedical staff is specialised in diagnosing and treating disorders such as gastrointestinal cancer, gallbladder and biliary tract diseases, pancreatic disorders, cirrhosis of the liver, Gastroesophageal Reflux Diseases (GERD), inflammatory bowel diseases etc. with more ease and accuracy.
Through our collaborative approach we make treatment of Gastrointestinal and liver problems safer and accurate with the right use of technological advancements such as endoscopy, colonoscopy, sigmoidoscopy, endoscopic ultrasound and ERCP, which assist the experts for diagnostics and further processes.
The dedicated ERCP unit gives perfect environment for the patient during the procedure and provides detailed test results helping out for better treatment. The Institute is the first in Malabar to have the EUS (Endoscopic Ultrasound) equipment. The EUS procedure enables the doctor to get images and information about the digestive tract and the surrounding organs and tissues. We take multidisciplinary approach in treating patients while working closely with the other departments.
Interventional Radiologists work closely with gastrointestinal specialists to provide diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in a state-of-the-art Angiography Suite in the hospital. Variety of gastrointestinal procedures performed by Interventional Radiologists are Gastrostomy and gastro‐jejunostomy tube placements, Percutaneous Transhepatic Cholangiogram (PTC), Cholangioplasty and stenting, Biopsies such as those guided by CT and Ultrasound, Biliary stone removal, Cholecystostomy catheter placement, Transjugular Intrahepatic Portosystemic Shunt (TIPS) placement. BMH is the first in Malabar to perform TIPS placement.
